Meet The Band

Mychael David

Lead Vocals, Guitar

AKA - "Doc"

Mychael has spent over 40 years touring Nationally and Regionally sharing the stage with some of musics' greatest such as Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, Buddy Jewell, Sawyer Brown, George Jones, the Bellamy Brothers and many more along the road.

"Mychael’s rich, full, deep, emotive vocals are this band’s calling card. It’s a special voice, capable of everything from ballads to rockers and great on the mid-tempo, laid-back-but-still-energetic songs that seem to be his sweet spot." "Though he can cut across the country landscape – in many ways, in style and sound, a lot like Garth Brooks – Mychael’s music tends to be underpinned by the more classic end of the spectrum." "Always a pleasure catching a Mychael David show and hearing him breeze through a broad range of country music sub-genres, all with a bit of a classic country tilt." "Mychael and band rolled out his biggest hit, “Nothin’,” a mid-tempo tune with lyrics that really connect, especially thanks to Mychael’s deep, emotional, powerful voice. The song is very catchy; I can see easily why it was a hit."

Steve Brown

Piano, Keyboards, Backing Vocals

AKA - "Downtown Brown"

Steve's musical journey began as a child in Hartford CT pulling the drawbars on a neighbor's Hammond B3 organ. He became drawn to the glorious sounds emanating from the keyboard. Through the years he has become a "first call" keyboardist in the New England region for many live band performances and recording sessions. He brings passionate energy to his playing whether it's rock, blues, country or soul. Some of Steve's influences are Gregg Allman, Billy Powell, Gregg Rollie and Jon Cleary.

Ben Wiggin

Drums / Percussion

AKA "Wiggy"

Ben began drumming in early grade school as a traditionally trained percussionist with the local concert band where he was raised. The urge for more drumming led to playing a full drum kit with both PEP bands and ROCK bands. Ben played with local bands during the grunge era. During that time he found an interest in African drumming and auxilary percussion sounds.  This evolved into joining a rock / jam band that toured regionally and recorded their 1st album in the early 2000's. Ben's next musical endeavor found himself in a band of professional musicians touring locally. Playing with Southern Drive has opened yet another exciting musical path for Ben to venture down.

Kirk Wishowski

Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals

AKA "Captain Kirk"

Kirk considers himself to be a bassist and a homesteader. He brings a warm, long - honed pulse to the band's Southern Rock and Country sound. His bass lines carry the easy swing of classic country with the punch and drive of southern rock, giving every song an insistent backbone groove. For nearly 20 years he's blended blues, country, roots and classic rock energy, inspiring audiences to get up and dance. Kirk's playing is all about the feel - earthy, melodic, and always serving the story the song wants to tell. When he's not laying down the low end lines, Kirk is back on his Homestead tending to animals, fixing what needs fixing and living the kind of hands - on life that gives his music it's grounded and honest character.  His playing carries that same spirit, sturdy, soulful and built from real world grit.
